Having a background in Resort Apparel Graphic Design, I understand that creating a fresh design specific to a location can be a daunting task. For instance, when confronted with the job of creating a t-shirt specific to New York, all the obvious imagery and text have been used countless times over (just think of the statue of liberty and empire state building alone). This is why a piece I discovered while browsing the selection at Reed Space really resonated with me. This 3sixteen shirt merely has Canal St. placed in a street sign looking rectangle with the (in)famous Louis Vuitton monogram pattern in the background. The economy of the design is its strength, communicating that Canal St. is the main strip where knock-off designer bags are sold with the LV monogram bags making up the largest percentage of these faux bags.
